Sunday Fun-day!

Even though this blog is supposed to be about my adventures in Japan... Well, life goes on. It is time to re-explore my hood, Houston.

It's been a whole entire month since the huge quake, and just a few days ago there was 7.4 quake along with a tsunami warning. I am definitely glad to be back. I do not know how to fend for myself during these natural disasters. I DO miss it back in Shinyokohama and my little closet I lived in. I realized that having too much room just gives me more room to make a bigger mess. I have also realized that even though I have been back for a little over three weeks, everything that comes to mind and my word vomits ALL relate to Japan. Japan this... Japan that... I think everyone around me is sick of me consistently talking about my ex-boyfriend, the Nippon. I was forced to break up with the country due to Fukushima drama. It happened so suddenly. Drinking my sorrows away... Haha! It was love. True love.

I had a chance to wear my yukata I bought though. Woo-woo! Today and yesterday at Hermann Park, there was the Japan Festival. And in my mind, I was thinking of a matsuri with little street vendors and games and junk but no. I am in America. And let me tell you. I loved Harajuku with all the cosplay and even bought myself an outfit or two (or maybe three...) to join in on the fun! But I do NOT want to join them here. They take it to another level... the scary level. These festivals and restaurants are no substitutes...The only way to get back that true love of mine back is to go to Japan. Or is it time to move on? Korea? Taiwan? Vietnam? Laos?

Anyway, back to good ol' Houston-life ways. Killing my liver one night after the other in between shopping and stuffing my face with fatty foods. If your friends with me on Facebook and Foursquare, y'all know what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Houston Zoo. My two faves. Pink flamingos and red pandas! There's TWO NOW! Toby and Take. :)

Birthdays: Momma's and then cousins' birthdays

Me and my Granny Smith

I went to the festival before the birthday... They thought I was an entertainer and wanted me to do a little dance. (-____-")

And I'd like to quote the BFFF: "Welcome to American!"
